Munich takes Rutgers by Storm

Literally. We arrived in Munich about 2 days again and it has unfortunately done nothing but rain (with a forecast of more rain). However, being in Germany is an experience in and of itself regardless of the weather. Yesterday we took a stroll around the city center, Marienplatz, in the efforts of staying awake after long non-stop flights into the city. Regardless of our exhaustion, we were all amazed. The main center to the city is a large plaza space where groups of people and shoppers are flooding in and out at all hours of the day.

This morning, we were in the city center and witnessed a rally! the Bayern Munich soccer team is playing a big game tonight so everyone is really excited! It was interesting to watch people get so excited and set off flares right in the middle of the busy city center. Our director mentioned, they are permitted to do such things in the center plaza, because although it looks like an outdoor mall, it is truly designed as a public space for people to fill with whatever they want.

Despite that its only day 3 I am already in love with Germany already. I am so happy to be here, and am already planning by trip back next year.
