This past weekend we decided to take a trip to Brussels! We
had the day off Friday, allowing for a longer weekend for individual travel.
Belgium was only about a four hour train ride from where we were staying. We
stayed in a really great hostel right off of Grand Place, the main square of
the city. It was amazing! We went to the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and
of Military history, as well as the Royal Arts Museum. I especially like the
art museum because there was a display from Ancient Egypt with mummies and
artifacts. We also went the Atomium, a famous monument. We went to the top to
view the skyline of Brussels. Of course, we had Belgian waffles after dinner
every single night! They were fantastic, as was the chocolate. Over all it was
a great weekend mixed with sightseeing and leisure. This weekend was definitely
a highlight of my trip.
