I am so sad our final few days is upon us. We just presented
our final project. We decided to study two specific canals in the city and
propose a project to improve them. Our Professor was really impressed with our
work. I especially liked going out and interviewing members of the community to
ask their opinions on improving the canal. It offered insight on how the Dutch
think and live, especially pertaining to the environment. After we did our
presentation, we had our farewell dinner with the group, our group leader, and
our Professor. We went to a Mexican Restaurant called La Cantina. It was
delicious! We were there for a long time, sharing laughs and memories about the
past few weeks. I’m really going to miss the people I met here. Two girls are
coming with me for our second course in Spain, but I will miss the others so
much! They have made this a truly amazing experience. We spent every waking
moment together and we have all grown extremely close. They are the kind of
friends I will keep in touch with for many more years and hopefully get a
chance to see again in the future. I will never forget my experience in the
Netherlands. I am very sad to be leaving such a beautiful country. I'm going to miss hearing the chime of bicycle bells and looking out and seeing a windmill slowly spinning in the distance. Even though I will miss this city, I am also very excited to travel to Spain for the second part of my study abroad experience.
