Leaving for Finland

Hello everyone.  My name is Beryl-Anne and today I will begin my trip to Finland to begin my study abroad trip that will be for two months.  While there I will be working for the Finnish Forest Research Institute on the community analysis of a phylum of bacteria that dominates arctic tundra soils.  I am currently a microbiology major at SEBS and I have one more semester left at Rutgers before I graduate.  Before that I was a biology major at Middlesex County College.  Coming to Rutgers has given me so many opportunities to learn and gain valuable experience in my field of study, and I am so thankful for the chance to experience a trip like this.  I still cannot believe that I am going to be in Finland for two months on my own and I have been nervous for the past week about traveling on my own.  I know that I will miss my family and friends here in the states while I’m gone, but I think the time will pass before I know it.  Hopefully everything will run smoothly and I will be in Finland soon!
